SanDiegoHuskies Rescue and Referral Policy

I. It is the firm goal of SanDiegoHuskies.com to rescue Siberian Huskies who are abandoned, neglected, abused and end up unwanted at our local San Diego area animal shelters. We will work closely with our rescue dogs to overcome any socialization issues the dog may have which might inhibit a successful adoption. We provide a loving & safe environment to our rescue dogs while in our care during the transition from homeless to someone's permanent, loving companion. These dogs in life-threatening situations, take priority in our rescue efforts.
II. San Diego Huskies is not a dumping facility for people don't want to be responsible for their pets any longer. We will work with private parties for a fee to re-home their pets. But only if the situation and dog meets our referral and adoption criteria. We will not work with any dogs who have displayed Human Aggressive traits at all. When working with people who are considering giving up their Huskies due to problems, we will always encourage these owners to find ways to keep their pets if at all possible. Finding a new home, particularly for dogs over 3-4 yrs of age, is extremely difficult.
III. All adoption and referral services are subject to donation fees. They will be determined based on individual cases. Should a dog be accepted into rescue from an owner surrender, the minimum surrender fee is $100. This is not subject to negotiation.
IV. We only rescue and work with purebred, healthy Siberian Huskies.
V. All adoptions are screened beginning with our online adoption application. We will not consider an adoption of a Siberian Husky to anyone living in an apartment or without adequate fenced yard. If an adoption applicant is currently renting their residence, they MUST provide written approval from their landlord to have a Siberian Husky living at that residence. NO EXCEPTIONS. All applicants must be willing to provide vet references and allow a home check at their residence to qualify for adoption from our group.
VI. Should any Siberian Husky adoption fail through our group, the Rescue dog is to be returned to San Diego Huskies for re-homing. They are not to be given to family or friends or relinquished to any shelters/stores.
VII. San Diego Huskies is here to assist anyone who has any questions regarding Siberian Huskies. This is in the hope that more knowledge of this breed will keep people from adopting an animal they are possibly not so compatible with.
VIII. All rescue Siberian Huskies adopted through SanDiegoHuskies.com are subject to Adoption Contracts. Non-compliance with the contract may result in immediate forfeiture of the dog and this rescue will reclaim the dog without any compensation or reimbursement.
IX. All rescue San Diego Huskies are micro chipped, altered and up to date on their vaccinations.
X. All adoptions through SanDiegoHuskies.com are in the local south California area. Our preference is San Diego area. SanDiegoHuskies.com reserves the right to refuse adoption at our discretion.
